Comprehensive and Sustainable Alternative Development (AD)

Breaking the dependency of drug economies

In order to address the causes that motivate the illicit cultivation of plants for drug production, it is necessary to intervene on the dependencies generated by the drug economy in the territories.

In this context, the comprehensive and sustainable alternative development approach (AD) constitutes an alternative for the development of policies that promote new opportunities for legal and sustainable economic development. In this way, it
addresses the socio-economic vulnerabilities of populations that survive due to illicit drug-related activities and promotes the transition to sustainable licit economies over time.
